Meet Indy! Indy is one of those dogs who quietly steals your heart. She’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and sensitive—still learning that the world (and people) can be safe. She’s timid and easily startled by new sounds or sudden movements, but when she feels comfortable, you can see her soft personality start to peek through. Indy loves having access to the outdoors and really comes alive when she’s moving—she’s surprisingly agile and enjoys exercise, even if convincing her to get started can take a little patience and encouragement. Inside the home, she prefers having a cozy, quiet space where she can decompress and observe from a distance. She wants to be near you, but on her own terms, and will thrive with people who understand that trust takes time. She would do best in a home that isn’t necessarily silent, but one that offers her a safe retreat when things feel overwhelming. A calm, compassionate family who will let her set the pace, give her space when she needs it, and celebrate the small wins will be her perfect match. Indy’s past wasn’t kind. She was used for breeding and discarded once she began having health issues. She will be losing one eye, but she’s likely been blind in that eye for quite some time and navigates her world just fine. What she’s been through hasn’t hardened her—it’s made her gentle, resilient, and quietly hopeful. Indy may not rush into your arms, but give her time, consistency, and love, and she’ll reward you with something incredibly special: the trust of a dog who’s learning what it finally means to be safe. ? Indy is available for adoption in Washington state only.
